CESANESE

Cardinale is an IGT Lazio Cesanese. From this grapes come out a never banal wine with a good balance and excellent personality. A wine with a ruby red color and balsamic hints typical of our vineyard. 

“Cardinale” was the main measure in the papal bull of Pope Sixtus V that regulated the sale of wine in the ancient Roman taverns, it represented 2 liters. 

Curiosity

It is a dark grape variety, which has always been cultivated in the surroundings of Rome. The origins, not certain, but are very ancient. We can say that Cesanese is the Lazio red wine par excellence, much loved by the Romans, it was little known outside Lazio. In the dry version offers an important wine of great potential.

Pairings

Ideal for main courses, red meats, medium-aged cheeses, potato gnocchi, polenta with sausages or pork ribs and game. And, in particular to the typical dishes of Roman cuisine: Abbacchio alla Romana, baked lamb, Coda alla Vaccinara, roast suckling pig …
